Rev. Gaylyn was born and raised in Toronto but began a gradual move west and has spent the last 14 years living in Guelph. She is the mother of three adult children and one grandchild.

Work life balance has always been important to her so part-time work and team ministry has suited the best. It has been almost 30 years since her ordination and Gaylyn has served congregations and outreach ministries in Northern Ontario, Happy Valley Goose Bay, Labrador, Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Guelph prior to coming to Forest Hill & Trinity United here in Kitchener. She completed her Undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto, her Divinity degree from Emmanuel College, Toronto and has also completed a Master of Science in Education from Medaille College, Buffalo.

Gaylyn has a lifelong love of books, the outdoors, travel, her canine walking companions and feeds her creative soul through music, theatre, arts and home décor.

Faith has been a part of her life from her earliest memories. Raised in a Baptist context she gradually moved to the United Church that better suited her belief in inclusion and acceptance of all of God’s children in all of their uniqueness and diversity. Pastoral Care and Children’s ministry has always been a vital part of her ministry. Her experience of caring for ill and aging family gives her an ability to identify with others in similar situations. Rev. Gaylyn has a deep faith that guides her life and ministry and is grateful for the opportunity to work with Rev. Gary and the other Forest Hill Staff and congregation.

Rev. Gaylyn also serves on the Boards of Chalmers Community Services, Guelph and the Ecumenical Campus Ministry at the University of Guelph.
