Music

Do you enjoy singing?

There is always a need for more singers, and you are invited to join any of these dynamic and social groups! Although several of our members are involved in local community choirs and musical organizations, most simply enjoy singing and serving God in this way. Some are musically trained, but most are not. No experience is necessary — we will teach you what you need to know!

Adult Choirs

From September to June, our Sunday services are led by a full volunteer SATB mixed choir directed by our Director of Music, Peter de Sousa. The choir occasionally presents “choral” Sundays — from cantatas to extra anthems and musical enhancements to the services. The repertoire of the choir ranges from the classics to more modern selections. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings. To get in touch or find out more, see our contact page.

Junior Choir

Forest Hill enjoys an enthusiastic and energetic group of young singers directed by Elizabeth Cresswell and accompanied by Peter de Sousa on the keyboard instruments. The Junior Choir sings approximately one anthem per month from October through May, often joining in worship leadership with the Adult Choir and the Praise Band. They rehearse on Sunday mornings following the worship service in the sanctuary. All elementary school age children are invited to join us.

Worship Band

A newer addition to the music ministry at Forest Hill is our “plugged-in” worship band. Singers and instrumentalists combine to provide a taste of the newer Christian contemporary music now emerging in mainstream worship. If you play guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, other instruments or if you wish to sing with the band, contact us to get involved.
